Home Away From Home

I haven’t been posting on my blog lately because I recently relocated from Memphis, my hometown, to Washington DC. With that being said, my time has been consumed with tons of other responsibilities that come along with relocating. Now that many of those responsibilities are taken care of I can get back to blogging.

Back in the summer of 2009 I had an internship with Voice of America where I created bumpers and animations in Adobe After Effects for the international network. While I was living in DC for the summer I fell in love with the city. Now that I’m here I can relax and enjoy the pleasures and opportunities that DC has to offer.

Cool Photo shoot

Here’s a photo shoot that I did last month. I ended up using the 85mm 1.8 lens made by Canon.  The 85mm lens is great for portrait photography.

Mk Skateboard Montage

Back in May I took a trip to a Houston skatepark located in Memphis and recorded a few things with the Canon T3i. Take a look and enjoy.

Not too long ago I had the opportunity to record two guys doing some amazing graffiti art work in Memphis. They did two amazing murals on each side of  Whatever, a store located in Memphis, Tn. I caught the beginning part of the process but I wasn’t able to catch the second half. I’ll post a complete picture of the murals as soon as I post the video. Also, I edited the photos in Adobe Lightroom 3 and for the video I used a 50mm 1.8  and 18-55mm lens.

Berlin: Fashion District

“No one realizes how beautiful it is to travel until he comes home and rests his head on his old, familiar pillow.” – Lin Yutang

This quote speaks to me in so many ways! Berlin, Germany is one of the most beautiful places I’ve visited overseas. During my stay I had the opportunity not only to speak to filmmakers at JFK Platz but I also had the opportunity to explore the city and gain a deeper understanding of Berlin’s history. As I explored and navigated through the city  I had a chance to visit different  cultural parts of Berlin. One of the places that stood out to me the most was the fashion/shopping district in East Berlin. By visiting a few stores in the district I was able to get a first hand view of the latest fashions in Berlin. If you’re ever in Berlin you should stop by these places or just attend the Berlin Fashion Week

This is where I started my journey in East Berlin
